freedom
my 21st was nothing short of AWESOME.
from the initial conceptualisation, to the preparation, to the finalisation & then the big day... everything paid off tht night, when I saw how everyone enjoyed and agreed unanimously tht the party was one of the best, ever.
one of the wonders of throwing a party is tht you get to indulge yourself in some make-believe, and for me i got to experience the life of a socialite. think gossip girl, high fashion. or red carpet, runway. the place where I had my event, Mykii, was extremely apt for the event in terms of room for decoration and all. their white-washed walls and clean layout were easy to work with, I could shift the tables&chairs around for the laying of the red carpet and logo wall. projection was also possible, with moleyy's idea of screening fashion vids. the bonus was an extended porch where guests could mingle outdoors. ambience was perfect.
coming to the food, which is very important as well, I'm glad Mykii served top-notch tapas. Highlights were the blue potato salad with mayo & coriander bits and mini nutella squares(speciality of the restaurant). i guess for parties, most guests wldnt go there with the mindset of gorging so, little bites are more than enough.
my favourite item of the night was my birthday cake- standing 40cm tall - Croquembouche made up of 150 handmade profiteroles. can you imagine each profiterole has a unique, personalised design, so much so tht the bakery had to close for a day for preparation. well, it goes to show the amt of effort the Patissier puts into their cakes no doubt.
a BIG thanks to everyone who has made my 21st such, a memorable & meaningful one. i will do a credit roll below, in recognition of efforts(plus some have been asking me for contacts), yeah, & a photo collage to share those moments :)
